Greetings, all. Been lurking for a while and reading every thread. Last year I installed CE on a Nexus 7 Wifi (2012) that I got for this specific purpose. I even added the PwnPack and got it working (great stuff there, securemaryland). From what I can gather: Kali is the new 'unofficial' CE, there won't be an official CE update for the 2012 version, and the 2013 CE won't work with the 2012 Nexus 7. So, assuming the previous statement is correct... What is the proper method of installing Kali on the 2012 model with Y support and (hopefully) Kit Kat? Does it include the PwnPack? Is Play functional? I've read several install guides by Drizzler, Binky, and 0ld only to come away confused as they each have different methods involving different ROMs, Kernels, etc. Because of this, I hope you gentlemen can assist me so I don't end up bricking my investment. Thank you for your time. |

First Aid Computing - I'm working on porting the Pwnpad Nexus 2014 to the Nexus 7 (2012). Proper method for my version would be to install ROM (kit kat preffered), use the kalipwn update.zip, then flash the kernel with y-cable support. All of this is down from recovery. You can download multirom app (if you are rooted) and install it from there. Mine includes Pwnpak (although modified). You need to flash Gapps over you install if you want playstore (see xda). If you need more help there are a few guides or you can pm me. |

Thanks, Binky. I'll give that order a shot once the update downloads. Mega has been notoriously slow in my area. |

Yeah I hear you. I wish there was a better alternative that gave that much free space. |

30 hours and only at 4%. I've downloaded a 143 GB torrent of MST3K faster than this. Maybe once I get the update file I'll put it up on my MediaFire account for sharing or something. |

Ha, what do you think of net neutrality now? its only going to get worse, especially for a web site affiliated with Kimdotcom. |

Figured out how to download the update better from Mega. Use Transfer to Cloud and download that way. Worked tons better. Copying files to device now and will install this afternoon. Thanks, Binky. |
