* This is unaffiliated with Pwnie Express Team and is a port designed to put the Pwnpad 2014 on other Android Devices * * I am not responsible for any problems along the way * At the moment this is not fully working. If you want to test or propose fixes then I ask you to download and give a shot. Otherwise you might want to stay away. ========================================================================================== So here it is. I wanted to try the Pwnpad on my old Nexus 7 (2012) and after some fiddling it appears to be working. This should technically work on almost any Android device (tablet sized) but a custom kernel with wifi/bluetooth support is needed. This was test on my Nexus 7 (2012) grouper. ========================================================================================== You will need to download a few zips before starting. You will need a ROM, Kernel (for external wifi), the custom Pwnpad2014 port zip, and SuperSU. I have provided links for all of these. Before starting, you should have a rooted device with TWRP or some other custom recovery like Clockwork Mod. If you don't know how to do that I suggest Google. Once you are rooted and have a custom recovery, download all the needed files and put them on your device/sdcard. Then follow the instructions. # Step 1 # In recovery install zip file/ROM for Grouper or Tilapia. You can use CM11 for Nexus 7 as an example: Download (Wifi Nexus7 2012): http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=grouper Download (Wifi/3G Nexus7 2012): http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=tilapia I'm using Purity ROM for test and it come with SuperSU so it saves me step 4. Pick whichever appears to be most stable. # Step 2 # Nexus 7 (2012) users, in recovery install zip with Kangaroo Kernel. Download: http://d-h.st/cSu # Step 3 # Reboot. Make sure ROM is running smoothly then reboot back into recovery. This is mainly just for bug testing. # Step 4 # Install Pwnpad Nexus 7 2014 port file in recovery. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/tamcvzdol1m77i4/pwnpad2014CE-n7port.zip MD5 (pwnpad2014CE-n7port.zip) = 0b8bcef6a05e01f4526e6f1a72ed703b # Step 4 # Install SuperSU in recovery Download: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu # Step 5 # Reboot. Run Busybox Free and use smart install to install missing commands. DO NOT RUN THE "UPDATE" APP. IT WILL BREAK YOUR CURRENT INSTALLATION. Fix is hopefully on the way. All done! ==================== I have barely tested this. If you want to complete the look of your new install you can download Pwnie Express wallpapers here: http://d-h.st/JiU MD5 (Desktop_Background.zip) = 10f020fd3e2de577e8e565f029a34a55 Any install problems or non-working devices please let me know. Also, don't forget to install SuperSU to fix most terminal issues. ==================== DEVELOPMENT STUFF So some of things to get this to work involved a bit of hackery. The /system/bin/chrootboot relies on it being booted automatically. One of the problems is that it loads wlan_interfaces.sh in /system/bin also which is designed for the Nexus 7 (2014) based off reading a specific driver file. I changed that to pull the mac from iwconfig instead and moved the chrootboot to /data/local/userinit.sh. This may have some unintended consequences during an update. Also I noticed that they used a busybox command not usually symlinked with default busybox install so thats why it needs to be installed manually. I also had to "recover" the data partition in TWRP then tar that up in the kalifs.tar.bz2 as it didn't like being untarred outside Android. Otherwise, not to much else needed to be changed. I'm going to give it a thorough test tonight hopefully. I noticed when I ran update I broke it (mounting / devnull error). Going to do a complete wipe and see what's causing it and maybe upload a fix. Might just have to remove update for now. * edit 1 * After playing around with it seems to be faster but my wlan1 isn't being recognized. "service postgresql start" doesn't seem to recognize either. I may just switch back to my version as I'm not saying huge benefits other then their update system (which won't work for this build) and their scripts. Edited by binkybear, Feb 13 2014, 02:19 AM.

Binky, loaded it last night using your steps and seems to work fine. Although I updated before looking at your post about not updating. Re-installed everything again and ran a quick test with Wifite. That worked well and my TP-Link was injecting. I will do more testing today. Thanks again. |

Maybe I spoke too soon. For some reason now I am getting the Permission Denied /dev/null messages followed by a Wireless Tools not found when trying to test Wifite. Only thing I did today was to load some android apps on the Nexus 7. I did not run the update link. It was working fine last night. |

Ill stick to KaliPwn. BTW binky, I got the xoom working nicely w/ omnirom kitkat. Just need to get down and busy making the kernel support what Kalipwn needs. Been really busy at work, so haven't had much time to build the environment to modify the xoom kernel. |

Yeah I ended up getting the same error for what seemed to be no reason also. The dev/null is a chroot mounting error. Not sure whats going on with that... |

Running the update for me seems to be fine. Don't know if the dev/null error will go away gonna test. Using nexus 7 2013 wifi. *edit* Seems the dev/null error happens randomly in each boot. Edited by cLeAv0, Feb 16 2014, 12:01 PM.
