Can't create IP Socket: Permission denied
Has anyone got this working.

Need add mysql user to aid_inet group so it is allowed to create a socket. Just run this in chroot:

usermod -aG aid_inet mysql

Hi, sorry for the delay, I posted the original question

Thanks Pwniedon, this put me on track
to install mysql on the pwnpad
I run apt-get update first to get the latest repository entries.

1. groupadd -g 3003 aid_inet
2. apt-get install mysql-server-5.5
3. This will fail after asking you for the root password (twice)
4. usermod -aG aid_inet mysql
5. apt-get install -f (to fix the install)
6. apt-get install mysql-server-5.5

someone may be able to contract this to a shorter version.
I expect if you create the mysql user and run step 4 before step 2 it will work, but you would need to ensure the mysql user is created with the correct permissions etc.

Also this may be relevant feel free to post in a more appropriate place.
To install jdk on pwnpad
apt-get install openjdk-6-jre
This will fail with an error message mentioning tzdata
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/tzdata.postinst
apt-get install -f
apt-get install openjdk-6-jre (to ensure complete install)

Hope this is of use.
thanks again.
